Chicago!

This weekend was amazing. It took a shorter time than I thought. Only 6 hours. We stayed in a town near the city called Lombard at this apartment complex-like Marriott. 'Tis tight!

Since the 103rd story of the Willis (Sears) Tower was closed, we only got to the 99th floor, but 'tis tight! I'll post pics on Facebook as soon as I get home so you all can check them out.

Mainly both days in the city, we walked around.

My parents looked like tourists (with is a huge no-no in a huge city such as Chicago).

We didn't even eat lunch yesterday due to walking around and viewing sights, so we had lunch at like 5:30ish (which is supper). It was awesome deep-dish pizza with the sauce on top! We went to this bean-shaped sculpture called the AT&T Cloud Gate. It was so trippy!!! You can go under it and it's all like psychedelic!

This month is Gay Pride month in Chicago, so I was kinda excited about that, but we hardly saw anything of it except one guy all decked out, but I did see some for sure gays (even my cashier at the three story Borders I went to today [I could easily tell, for I bought the first book of a LGBT fiction trilogy that he recognized and by his voice, I knew. He was kinda my type, just older.]
The thing is with this that just killed my mood almost was that I was here with my 'rents (who are Christian), plus my dad (he will not listen to me about this topic!!!!). I just feel so uncomfortable just talking about it with them or even being around some Gay Pride with them there. UGH!

Today, we spent 3 hours getting into the city, and driving to three major sports arenas (which was a waste of time on my part). I wanted to go to Magnificent Mile (where I bought $20 jeans and GAP and changed into them [I wore basically the same color with my outfit. Glad of the change]) and Navy Pier (which we didn't get to until 8 and didn't eat supper until then either).
They were both cool. I have pics!

I'll be home soon.
CYA laters!
